Ava Rabiat gives the entanglement of human and machine a soundtrack. Behavioural patterns become loops, emotions become computable patterns, and field recordings enter into dialogue with computer-generated sounds. Language serves as an exploration of emotion, but also as a stream of computer-spoken utterances. Sounds and ideas exist in symbiosis, without resorting to explicit predictions of doom or eureka moments. And yet ‘Szał Wirtualnych Ciał’ makes an intensely restrained and fragile impression. Melancholy beckons through whispering jazztronica, while a subtle sense of elation finds its way through the slightly melancholic sound.
